Our Supply-Side Partnership with CECOFA

Ram Champions proudly values our Supply-Side Partnership in Africa with CECOFA, the Central Coffee Farmers Association based in Uganda, a Cooperative who maintains a significant presence in many parts of Africa and has a pool in excess of 13,500 Coffee Farmers and growing. The organisation has partnered with Ram Champions as their distribution point in the USA for coffee beans produced by the Cooperative. CECOFA is certified to trade in Fair Trade Uganda, Fair Trade International and 4C.

Goal:

Our goal is to warehouse coffee beans produce in the United States in order to fulfill domestic purchase orders in an expeditious manner at any given time; whether in monthly fixed-price deliveries or term contract purchase spread.

Risk Management & Price Certainty:

In providing this point-of-sale for CECOFA in the continental USA, we take over international shipping risks that our clients in the country would otherwise have assumed. In doing so, we eliminate a key and expensive logistic burden on the US buyer, while adding value and cost-cutting incentives to coffee buyers in the country.

Reliability:

Because of this transatlantic pool of expertise and our single market purpose, we bring a deeply unique commitment to the US coffee industry. With no other business distractions, we are dedicated to receiving and delivering coffee in the most timely manner, in the quality and quantity desired, while easing supply-side fluctuations through appropriate market, risk and contract management.

The dried coffee beans are subsequently hulled to CECOFA's coffee factory, where they are graded and exported. CECOFA invests heavily in quality management, traceability and coffee farming sustainability programs with a quality control laboratory and trainings in GAPs.

Traceable Imports & Exports:

Our Coffees are traceable to our supply chains, with verifiable Chain of Custody proof. We Import green coffee beans from registered and identifiable farmers' cooperatives in various countries in Africa for sale in the USA. We roast some of the coffee beans in our facilities in the USA for domestic trading and worldwide export. We also export green coffee beans directly from Africa to other country destinations globally.

Environmental Initiatives:

Our pool of farmers are trained to protect the environment through programs like tree-planting, soil protection, energy conservation, and minimization of crop contamination.

Gender, Youth & Community Empowerment:

We provide gender-based training initiatives designed to empower women in Africa to effectively participate in the coffee-farming business. We encourage youths to maintain coffee farms through the sponsorship of sporting events at local levels. Through CECOFA's community and social responsibility programs, our partnership reaches out to various coffee growing communities to address communal needs, such as water, sanitation, environmental protection, health care and infrastructure development.
